Time for Change

At the beginning of August I decided that I would pick up my two young children from school.  It was something that I had wanted to do since my daughter started school two years ago.  As soon as I made the decision to put myself first an amazing chain of events occurred.

I ended up having a meeting with Jaye, who was going to be opening up a Zero Waste Organic Grocery Store around the corner from my store.  After meeting, it was decided that rather than competing, Jaye would take over my space.  This meant that Kelowna was officially getting its first Zero Waste Grocery store and I still got to be a part of it.

Many of the products that you have grown to love will still be available through Farmbound Zero Waste.  There will just be even more products to add to your current collection.  Plus you will still be able to find me at Jaye’s store 2 days a week so I will still be able to help people make the transition to a less wasteful lifestyle.

Besides getting to pick my kids up from school and helping at the Zero Waste Grocery store – the rest of my time I will be working on my new business called The Local Gift Card.  One of the many reasons that I started Unless Market was to support unique local businesses.  I am a strong believer in shopping local.  The Local Gift Card allows me to continue with that passion by offering unique local businesses a gift card program that we change the way that people buy gift cards.

Like most people, I have never been very good with change but I must admit that I am pretty excited about the change that is coming my way.
